The South Sydney mentor has already agreed to take over the reins at Red Hill from 2020 with current Broncos coach Wayne Bennett heading in the opposite direction.

The situation has led to speculation a swap deal could be struck as early as this week, enabling both men to take over at their new clubs 12 months ahead of schedule.

Renouf, who won four premierships at the Broncos, says his old club should be doing all they can to make the swap happen.

"Without a doubt, I think that's where it's at at the moment and I'm going to give Anthony Seibold my full support," Renouf told AAP from a Movember event in Brisbane raising awareness about indigenous mental health issues.

"If he repeats what he's done down at Souths, he should be able to get these boys into a grand final next year."

Renouf is the latest in a long line of ex-Broncos calling for the coach swap to be completed for the 2019 season.

Bennett has been in England in recent weeks in his role as their national team coach and has repeatedly stated he intends to see out his Broncos contract.

Seibold too has also stated he plans to remain at the Rabbitohs until the end of next season.
