The event took place at the Crookwell Bowling Club, and was played from Saturday November 24 to Sunday November 25.
The well-attended event was won by the Moruya team, with Goulburn placing second and Queanbeyan third in a tightly contested field.
Crookwell Bowling Club secretary Brad Cartwright said that the event was a rousing success.
“It was brilliant,” he said.
“The weather was a bit crappy on Saturday but [Sunday] was a good day. Everybody seemed to enjoy it.”
Teams from as far as Wagga Wagga, Canberra, Taralga, Goulburn, Moruya, Tomakin, and Cootamundra travelled to Crookwell to take part in the event, along with five local teams, and Cartwright said that the popularity of the tournament was a great boon to the town’s economy.
There was no shortage of high-quality bowling over the weekend. Cartwright said that there were “plenty of zone bowlers scattered throughout the teams, [and] former state players.
“It’s good quality field, [and] they were real happy. I’ve got 20 nominations for next year already. They came to me and said ‘make sure you put us down for next year’.
“They look forward to it, we look forward to having them here too.”
The Queanbeyan Bowlers Association released its draw for this weekend’s bowling action on Sunday.
