Stakeholder and Community Engagement Framework
The council is seeking feedback on a draft stakeholder and community engagement policy framework.
The council is committed to engaging with the community.
The framework applies to engagement by councillors and staff, and external parties who are representing the council.
Submissions on the policy close on February 4.
Go to yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au to view and make a comment on the framework.
Christmas Carols
The council’s annual Christmas Carols event is being held again in our beautiful Queanbeyan Park.
It is on Thursday, December 20, from 6pm.
Join us for traditional carols and performances, with songs from community groups, school performers and local stars.
Bring yourself a picnic dinner or grab a sausage sizzle and cold drink from the local charity stalls.
There is a carols booklet available, which you can download in advance from the council website.
Ask for Angela
The local Queanbeyan Liquor Accord, which includes the pubs and clubs in the region, recently became partners in the international “Ask for Angela” safety campaign.
People who are feeling unsafe are able to go to the bar and ask for ‘Angela’ and the bar staff will know they need some help getting out of their situation.
Look for the posters at your local venue.
Christmas decorations
You may have seen the Christmas decorations in your local town, with decorations rolled out in Bungendore, Braidwood, Captains Flat and Queanbeyan last week.
After last year’s successful Bungendore community Christmas tree project, the council teamed up once again with local Men’s Sheds and primary schools, pre-schools and early learning centres to make and paint the decorations.
The plywood shapes consisted of stars for Braidwood, trees in Bungendore and Christmas baubles for Queanbeyan, with a mixture of the three in Captains Flat.
