Looking back, it’s been a busy year in the Monaro electorate and one that’s brought new opportunities and investments for our thriving region.

On my travels this year I’ve hunted for truffles, patted a wild brumby and took a spectacular ride in a helicopter over the magical Snowy Mountains.

Every day it’s an honour to represent this vibrant electorate in NSW Parliament and I couldn’t be prouder of the region it is.

I enjoy nothing more than hitting road to visit locals, hearing their stories and finding out what’s important to them.

This year we’ve delivered significant investment in education, health, roads and community amenities.

The NSW Government is delivering projects that already show signs of renewed confidence in our villages, towns and cities.

These investments are not just numbers in a spreadsheet; they are delivering real changes.

In Queanbeyan we have delivered so much, but there’s still more to do.

Some highlights include the $1.16 million Queanbeyan River Walk giving locals a place to jog after work or somewhere to take the kids to enjoy on the weekend.

The duplication of Old Cooma Road means Googong residents can get home safely to their families.

The investment in Queanbeyan East Public School finally brings this school to a standard that our children deserve.

And work is also progressing on the Finigan School of Distance Education at Queanbeyan High School.

As the year draws to a close I am encouraged by the things we have been able to achieve together and mindful of things we are yet to achieve.

It is always wonderful to observe the atmosphere of celebration and joy that enraptures the Monaro in December. 

I look forward to the new challenges and opportunities the New Year will bring.
