The duplication of Old Cooma Road from Edwin Land Parkway to Googong Road is due to start early 2019.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year and we look forward to a fantastic 2019.

As always, the council’s after hours and emergency number is available on 1300 735 025.

Stay safe on the Kings Highway
The NSW Police, ACT Police, ACT Government and the council are teaming up to reduce trauma on the Kings Highway and encourage safe driving for the busy summer holiday period.
Look out for the ‘Reduce your speed; your family is counting on it’ banners installed along the highway, and grab a travel cup when you stop to take a fatigue break along the Kings Highway.
The cups are being given away by ACT Police and participating cafés in Bungendore and Braidwood include Food Lovers Market, Bungendore Bakery, Albion Café and the Braidwood driver reviver.
ACT Police and NSW Police will run enhanced enforcement operations over the summer.
Bin collection changes
Christmas is on a Tuesday this year and bin collections will be changed. If you are in the Queanbeyan area and your bin is usually collected on a Tuesday, please place it out on Friday, December 21 to be collected on Saturday, December 22.
For bins normally collected on a Tuesday in Braidwood, please place your bin out on Sunday evening, December 23, to be collected on Monday, December 24.
Queanbeyan portrait mural
Who do you think best represents Queanbeyan?
We are asking for your nominations, with a mural artist to interpret the winning entry as a large-scale portrait mural in the Queanbeyan CBD.
This project has been made possible through a grant supplied under the community investments stream of the Australian Government’s Building Better Regions Fund.
Submit an image of the face you believe best represents Queanbeyan, along with their story. Get involved at yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au/whats-your-story-portrait-mural
