Remove any fully matured fruit from citrus trees such as the Meyer lemon, whose main crop ripened in October. Discard those that are now softening and rotting on the tree, attracting fruit fly, and confine to the trash pack.
Tuberous begonias make magnificent container or basket plants in brightly lit but sheltered sites out of the full summer sun. However, they need to be watered with care when the soil starts to dry out. A constantly saturated medium tends to encourage fungal infections.
