The Tennis Festival combines the fun and excitement of an outdoor festival with a showcase of all of the tennis services and facilities available in the Queanbeyan region.
Queanbeyan Park Tennis Club president, Kathy Sly, said that “tennis is currently experiencing a resurgence at the Queanbeyan Park Tennis Club with an increase in both coaching numbers and overall membership.”
“We are very excited to show the local and wider tennis community what we have to offer.”
The festival will feature free coaching clinics for adults and juniors of all ages, competitive tennis games, free tennis play as well as the opportunity to try out Cardio Tennis – a popular adult program for people who are looking to get fit.
There will also be lots of family friendly activities such as jumping castles, face painting, tennis related “sideshow alley” games, music, and a speed serving competition.
A BBQ and raffle will also be available to support the local charity Home in Queanbeyan, who provide a supportive, loving home for 19 people who suffer from chronic mental illness.
“We had a massive day last year with over 500 people coming down to the club, including lots of kids who were trying tennis for the first time” Kathy said.
“We would love to see people come down and get involved in the festival.”
