Join your local community in recognising and honouring those who will receive Australia Day awards.
In Braidwood, there is a lunch from 12-2pm at the Servicemen’s Club with live entertainment from Wombat Bill.
In Bungendore, the celebration runs from 10am-2pm at Mick Sherd Oval and there will be sheep dog demonstrations, market and food stalls, live music and more for the kids.
In Captains Flat, on Colin Winchester Oval from 11am-2pm, there will be activities for the whole family including a jumping castle, yabby races and country entertainment.
Queanbeyan’s event is at Queanbeyan Park from 4-9.30pm and includes a citizenship ceremony, live music, barbecue, merry-go-round, jumping castle, face painting and a fireworks display from 9pm.

Canberra United at Seiffert Oval: On Thursday, January 17 from 7.30pm, Canberra United will take on Melbourne Victory in the first W-League game to be held at Seiffert Oval.
Bring the family and come and support them as they take on a Melbourne Victory side that is currently on top of the ladder.

Summer Activation: Thanks to everyone who came to the Summer Activation events in Braidwood, Captains Flat and Bungendore at the end of last year.
The final event is at the Queanbeyan Aquatic Centre on Saturday, January 19.
Come down and enjoy the wet play area, games in the pool, a free barbecue and a family movie on the giant screen.
Entry is via a gold coin donation from 12pm. Proceeds from all the Summer Activation events will go to the Aussie Farmers Foundation.
Environmental Expo: The council takes its Environmental Expo to the shows each year.
The council will be at the Bungendore Show on Sunday, January 27 from 9am-4pm with other community groups and businesses to show how you can include sustainability in your day to day lives.
Participate in a range of free interactive stalls and learn to take simple actions to help conserve and protect our beautiful local environment.
