“Clem Camage Motors in Queanbeyan has been faithfully serving customers since 1953,” says current owner-operator Craig Cooper.

“Originally located on the corner of Yass and Bungendore Roads Queanbeyan – for more than 20 years – we moved to our new workshop located at 2 Bayldon Road, Queanbeyan, in 2014.”

The workshop also benefits from the help of four employees; John, Michael, Rhys and Dave.

Additionally, “We are looking to expand and are currently looking for an apprentice and another qualified mechanic.

“John runs and manages the front office and is the first point of contact for customs walking into the reception and on the phone. Michael is our head mechanic and workshop foreman. Rhys brings over 40 years mechanical experience, and Dave does general mechanical and tyre fitting.”

On top of that, “I make full use of my 30 years’ experience within the automotive industry,” says Craig. 

“I am always happy to share my vast knowledge in a no-nonsense, friendly and honest manner.”

They also “take great pride in having been a part of the Queanbeyan community for more than 60 years, and I am committed to keeping that great tradition going for some time to come,” he says. 

“Queanbeyan is a great country town with a wonderful community atmosphere. It’s great to see small businesses rally around to help the community in general.”

As an example, Clem Camage Motors and a number of other Repco authorised service centre providers were involved with fundraising to assist drought-affected farmer’s across Australia. “This fundraising effort was a great success.” And locally, they “recently got behind the local under 6’s Queanbeyan Blues footy team by providing training shirts and organising for the kids’ names to be printed on the back of their game shirts. The kids were very excited. We also regularly donate to the local Starlight foundation.”
