Paint the garden
Iceland poppies 'Artists Glory' are beautiful annuals, producing late winter-early spring display of gold, lemon, apricot and salmon. Mass plant or grow in containers and cut for the vase.
Plant bulbs
Continue to plant early spring bulbs - grape hyacinths, hoop petticoat narcissus, star-flowered ipheion (good for partial shade), and crocus.
Indoor plants
Give indoor plants a final feed before growth slows down. Cuttings can still be taken of philodendron, spider plant and piggy back plant (Chlorophytum and Tolmeia). Most will strike in a jar of water with added charcoal to keep it sweet. Water grown roots are extremely brittle so plant up when no more than a couple of centimetres long.
