The men's first grade side managed a 14.13.97 - 5.5.35 victory over Gungahlin, a resounding victory against opponents who were recently described by coach Adrian Pavese as "improving every year".
The victory gives the Tigers a good benchmark against which they can judge their form coming into the season, and a clash against the Tuggeranong Hawks on April 27 should provide easier fare.
Meanwhile, the second grade team put a beating on Gungahlin, winning by a whopping 113 points.
Queanbeyan's 16.19.115 - 0.2.2 victory was underlined by a haul of eight goals from Jayden Cutts, while eight different teammates scored the rest of Queanbeyan's goals.
This victory will serve as a good confidence builder for the second-graders, who will now head into their next fixture against the Hawks with a head full of steam.
While the men's matches were decidedly dominated by the Tigers, the women's match was an utter demolition.
The Jets could do little to stop the rampant grand finalists in their quest for a perfect start to the season, and succumbed to a 26.13.169 - 0.0.0 hammering.
Jacqueline Parry was the star of the show for the Tigers, as she booted a career-best 11 goals for the match. She was well supported by Lexi Hamilton (four), Ashlee Jakim (three), and Jessica Stramandinoli (three).
The Tigers will next be in action on April 27 against the Tuggeranong Hawks. All three matches will be played at Allinsure Park, starting with the second grade men from 11.20am.
