These ceremonies are organised by local community groups and RSL clubs, and we have pulled together some information on the council's website.
Please note that, for some of these ceremonies, there will be road closures involved, which are also listed on our website.
Captains Flat mural
A photo-realistic mural that depicts and celebrates the history of Captains Flat will be painted on the amenities block next to the new playground over the next two weeks. The artist, Mike Shankster, prepared a concept design in consultation with the local community and we are looking forward to seeing the final result.
This is the final part of a project funded by the NSW Governments Stronger Communities Fund, which has upgraded community facilities in Captains Flat. The project has included new playground equipment, a restored horse trough, a fruit tree orchard, and upgraded amenities and barbecue facilities.
May community meetings
The council is holding three community meetings in May, from 6pm to 8pm in Queanbeyan on May 7, Braidwood on May 9 and Bungendore on May 21.
These meetings are a great opportunity to get an update on council projects and other matters of interest.
The draft Integrated Plans for 2019-20 and the Integrated Transport Strategy will be on the agenda as well as updates on projects in the local community.

Citizenship Ceremonies
Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming 22 new people into Australian citizenship.
They were from diverse backgrounds such as India, Ghana, England, Philippines, New Zealand, China, Sri Lanka, Canada, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Australian-born.
These 11 different nations are just some of many that contribute to our rich cultural community.
Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council holds Citizenship Ceremonies four times a year and it is always a privilege to be involved in this significant event.
