There are eight candidates contesting this electorate: a field in line with recent past elections. At the 2016 election Eden-Monaro lost its 'bellwether' status, having been held by the government at every election since 1972. It remains, however, a key marginal electorate, with incumbent, Dr Mike Kelly, holding the seat by under 3%.
The ballot draw for positions on the ballot paper was held today with the order of candidates as follows:
- Mike Kelly, Labor
- Fiona Kotvojs, Liberal
- Pat McGinlay, Greens
- David Sheldon, Independent
- Sophie Wade, Nationals
- Thomas Harris, Christian Democrat
- Chandra Singh, United Australia Party
- James Holgate, Independent
