"[It's] good for us to get off the starting blocks," Sophie Wade said on Sunday afternoon.
"I had a brilliant time getting out there and meeting Eden-Monaro, and learnt a lot along the way.
"You'll be seeing me around the Sapphire Coast again soon."
By Monday afternoon, according to the Australian Electoral Commission, Ms Wade had received 7.1 per cent of first preference votes, or 6314 individual votes.
The representative from the other half of the Coalition, the Liberals' Fiona Kotvojs, had received 49.04 per cent of the votes on a two-candidate preferred basis and on Sunday morning had said she remained positive about a possible win over Labor's Mike Kelly.
