Around a hundred guests attended including Queanbeyan mayor Tim Overall, deputy premier for NSW John Barilaro and 17 local charities, community groups and their volunteers and major sponsors.

This year's Queanbeyan Rodeo was a huge success and a total of $55,000 was raised and donated to the local community.

Secretary of Queanbeyan Rodeo Christine Corkhill said the Quenbeyan Rodeo is the biggest rodeo in the Southern Zone.

"The rise in prize money each year attracts more competitors from all of Australia," Corkhill said.

Queanbeyan Rodeo also sponsored five up and coming young cowboys and cowgirls from the Southern Zone area to compete in the High School Rodeo in America this June and July.

"The contribution will help them towards a trip of a lifetime and an experience of rodeo on a bigger scale," Corkhill said.

Queanbeyan Rodeo president Mark Mills wished them well and told them to "show the world what Aussies are made of".

Next year's presentation will be its 20^th and is on Saturday, March 7.
