A pretty evenly poised first quarter between the Tigers and Ainslie turned into a thrashing as the Tigers won 14.3.87 to Ainslie 1.4.10 on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Alan Ray Oval.
Tigers coach Chris Clifton was ecstatic with the result, but didn't see it coming.
"It was pretty surprising actually," Clifton said.
"We were anticipating a bit more opposition pressure, but that didn't happen.
"We were pretty much on the front foot for the whole game.
"Our defensive structure worked pretty well too."

The Tigers will still look to improve, but to make things even more impressive for the Tigers, they won without the services of a few players.
"We had around six of seven players out," Clifton said.
"We know that over the next three to four weeks, we will have players come back from injury.
"We will do a reassessment this week to determine what we need to adjust going forward.
"We're developing our game plan and constantly evolving it."
Earlier, the men's Tigers also beat Ainslie, with a 17.10.112 to 8.12.60 scoreline and Clifton said it was good to see as the men's and women's sides are pretty close.
"The boys and the girls sides are very tight," Clifton said.
"The coaches talk a lot almost every day on football matters, where our squads are going and how we're dealing with things.
"The girls probably got a buzz out of the boys winning, but at the end of the day, we concentrate on what we need to achieve."
All Tigers sides play the Gungahlin Jets away from home next, while all Ainslie sides also play away next against the Tuggeranong Hawks.
