Damaging winds are predicted for parts of the Southern Tablelands, including Goulburn and Braidwood, today Monday, June 6, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Winds with an average wind speed of 60 to 70 kilometres per hour (km/h) and peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are forecast to hit the southern ranges from late this morning, easing later today. In elevations below 1900 metres, damaging wind gusts are most likely to occur with either gusty thunderstorms or showers.
Locations which may be affected include Thredbo, Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass, Braidwood, Bowral, Canberra, Goulburn and Cooma.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
- Keep at least eight metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
- Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.
