Today we are seeing more boutique style gyms, like Hale Gym. The smaller class sizes, attention to detail and more personalised services at these gyms mean a better quality experience.
Boutique gyms are offering a one-stop shop with training options, nutritional components, expert trainers and quality amenities.
It is no longer just about training and lifting weights, but about the total package. All you have to do is show up.
- Structured and periodised programming, resulting in less injury and burnout
- Includes a nutritional component plus wellness
- More of a community-feel so trainers can understand your individual needs
- Find a workout buddy
"Hale Gym offers both an open gym and class based options," Hale Method trainer Jessica Barnes said.
"By including variety in the programming and classes, you can stay motivated and consistent in your training while experienced trainers ensure you move correctly."

The Method
Hale members are treated to leading-edge Technogym equipment in a non-intimidating, contemporary, sophisticated environment.
"Hale has developed a 12-Week Method incorporating mobility, strength, conditioning and rehabilitation to build long, lean, symmetrical bodies," Jessica added.
This runs four days a week and includes a nutrition component and Spa access.
A Junior Method program has also started up for ages 12-17, running after school on Tuesday and Thursdays.
Spa
"Hale Gym and Spa offers a total wellness package," Jessica said. "In addition to the gym, open to hotel guests and members, the Spa provides a full complement of day spa treatments.
"Immerse yourself in the cave-like spa pool, or dissolve away your stress in the steam rooms and infrared saunas.
"Relax in the Scandi-style lounge with fireplace and tranquil views before you have a customised facial or body treatment in one of the nine private treatment rooms. A high-end skin specialist suite can provide medical skin treatments as part of your rejuvenation ritual."
Lean Lab
Scientifically-based Lean Lab includes strength training that can help women (and men) achieve those lean looks through targeted workouts led by expert trainers.
Pilates
Hale also offers group classes in Barre, Spin-lates and Pilates, run in conjunction with Pilates Canberra.
Pilates is designed to engage the mind and condition the total body as well as strengthening the core.
"Over time, Pilates training improves strength, flexibility and balance," Jessica said. "Each class is set to reduce stress, tension and pain, along with boosting energy levels. Pilates can offer relief from back pain, joint tension, weight training and HIIT that helps minimise injury."
Pure Strength
Increase your maximal strength and muscular size through two strength training days, and one metabolic conditioning day.
