The mountain lakes have produced some great fish for anglers willing to put in the leg work; flicking lures around in the shallows and around timber has been very productive once you find where the fish are chilling.
Buckinderra, Middling Bank and Seven Gates all worth a look. Live yabbies or yabby meat have been a winner for the bait anglers. On the water, pinks and orange lures have been a fantastic morning.
Googong has been unstoppable, with more ups than downs this winter. Some amazing cod have been landed lately, even on fly, as most anglers might have seen in recent media, and large tasty winter reddies have been very active.
Burrinjuck has also had its fair share of solid cod landed, and some cracking goldens as well; swimbaits are by far out-fishing other methods.
On the coast, reef fishing has been hard to beat; snapper are starting to turn up in the shallows and have responded well to most plastics as well as floating dead baits.
I tend to run drop bear or squidgy prawns plastics this time of year, as I've always found them to smash it in the shallows.
Kings continue to be present at Montague and we should start to see a shift in feeding habits, towards squid/cuttlefish.
Southern estuaries are still fishing well for large bream and some monster lizards have been active.
Salmon and drummers have been the perfect escape if the weather has been lousy - you can always find some protected stones to throw some green weed or and metal slice off.
