Shared Path Bridge: The Queanbeyan River Shared Path Bridge is on track for completion in September. The approach paths and landscaping are currently being completed. On the northern side of the bridge, the path will connect into the upgrade of the caravan park, as well as the existing paths. The handrails and lighting will be installed over the next month. The handrails are designed to automatically collapse in the event of a flood, which reduces the risk of debris catching on the bridge. Lighting for the bridge has been designed with the safety of pedestrians and cyclists in mind as well as the requirements of platypus in the river, who are sensitive to light. The LED lighting will be along the deck of the bridge and will be able to change colour if different activities are in the area.
