Promoted by the Canberra College of Piping and Drumming, the ninth annual Canberra Burns Club Highland Gathering will be held on Saturday October 12 at Kambah Oval on Kett St.
Entry to the gathering is free, and it offers a family-friendly day of Scottish-based entertainment.
The organisers have announced that there will be around 40 vendors in attendance offering such things as Scottish cuisine, souvenirs and other Scottish products.
The massed pipes and drums will feature in the Opening Ceremony at 10.30am and again in the Closing Ceremony at around 4.30pm.

There will also be almost 20 Scottish Clan tents, up to 10 pipe bands competing in the ACT Pipe Band Championships, and around 60 highland dancers in the Highland Dancing Championship.
There will be displays throughout the day by the Tartan Warriors featuring heavy athletics events like the famous tossing of the caber, plus the Scottish Hussle dance group and local Canberra pipe bands.
If you're keen they're having Kilted Dash races, with the only requirement being to wear a piece of tartan.
Another popular feature is the Kids' Corner that operates throughout the day.
Following the Highland Gathering there will be the traditional Scottish Ceilidh (a social event) on the Saturday evening in the Burns Club. Enjoy more pipes and drums plus entertainment including by exciting local Celtic folk group Mad Kelpie Playdate who combine smallpipes, uilleann pipes, flute, guitar and percussion.
