Queanbeyan Park Tennis Club are celebrating the official opening of their new disability access features thanks to the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund.

The club received $32,162 to build disabled access to the tennis court complex in Campbell Street which included; widening gates, installing ramp access to the courts and building a new wheelchair compatible toilet.
President of Queanbeyan Park Tennis Club Kathy Sly was joined by Member for Monaro John Barilaro, CEO of Tennis ACT Kim Kachel and William McLennan to officially untie the ribbon on the new facilities.
Club President Kathy Sly said the new facilities will only add to the club.
"In the last year or so the committee has invested considerable time and resources into strategic planning and prioritising our future requirements," Sly said.
"We identified the need for disabled access to the courts and were fortunate to receive, a grant from the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund Program, to enable us to undertake our Disability Access Project."
"I am so proud to see the Stronger Country Communities Fund delivering important projects like this; it is such a great way to ensure everyone in our community can be included," Barilaro said.
William McLennan's mother Naomi Taylor said the new facilities would be incredibly beneficial for children like William who have a disability.
"It helps support mental health, wellness and increasing resilience to stress. Queanbeyan Park Tennis club has really set a precedent," Taylor said.
