He has been performing for over 20 years under the moniker of Mikelangelo, releasing 12 albums and touring nationally and internationally to great acclaim.
He has just landed the new job to help local musicians and he is hosting a Meet'n'Greet for musicians at the Hive, at 274 Crawford St Queanbeyan on Tuesday, November 26 from 6pm.
He hopes musicians of all ages will come along and meet him and tell him what help they need and how he can help them to keep live music thriving locally.
"As the new Regional Music Officer for Queanbeyan, Goulburn and Bowral area I'm hosting a Music NSW Meet'n'Greet for anyone in the who is passionate about music in our region, so we can get together and talk about ways to supporting and growing our original contemporary music," he said.
"I am trying to reach musicians, venue owners and operators, music loving audiences, music teachers and mentors, promoters, managers, events organisers and other passionate music people in our community."
He held a similar event in Goulburn in September and it was well-attended.
"I'm here to help. I want to know what's working, and what's not, and to provide an opportunity for our music community to come together and make great things happen," he said.
"Are you interested in music? Own a live music venue? Are you a musician? An audience member? A teacher? A promoter? A manager? Well, I want to meet you."
'"I want to hear about music in your area, what you're working on, things you might need help with, what's working (or not working), and also provide an opportunity for you to meet other passionate music people in your music community."
