With a history of strong performances in both their senior and junior ranks, the Blues are looking to bolster the future of their women's league tag and tackle sides.

A flyer made up by the Blues states that players do not need experience, just "a love for the game and willingness to learn".

"I want to get that pathway up and running, because [the women's competition is] really growing," Junior Blues administrator Tammy Stuckey said.

Five junior Blues teams played in the 2019 grand finals, and four were victorious. Meanwhile, the senior women have established a strong winning record in the last four years, with one title and three finals berths.

As women's league in Canberra continues to grow, Stuckey is sure the Raiders will introduce a women's team. This, she says, will bode well for the Blues, who have already had strong numbers in representative sides in recent years.

There are also plenty of opportunities for the junior girls, as the Blues have both a senior league tag team and senior tackle team, so players are welcome to pick which they prefer or even play both.

The Blues plan to have a training and development day, which will give prospective players the opportunity to have their questions answered.

The invitation to come and try league is also open to those who have played other codes in the past.

A number of the Blues' most successful female players have backgrounds in other sports, so past experience is no obstacle for those hoping to cross codes.

The 2020 competition will get underway on April 26, so there is still plenty of time for new players to sign up.

Stuckey also confirmed that they are welcome to use their Active Kids voucher, which will greatly reduce the cost of registration.
