Unsealed road grading: Council's grading crews have recommenced grading unsealed roads after a period where the graders and staff were part of the bushfire fighting efforts, and the extended dry spell prevented grading in the Braidwood region. In both the Braidwood region and around Bungendore and Queanbeyan, crews and contractors will focus on a number of roads that carry a higher number of vehicles and have been prioritised as requiring attention. After this initial period, we plan to return to the normal schedule of grading. We thank motorists for their patience and urge them to drive to conditions, particularly as some roads have also been impacted by recent flooding.

Orana Reserve: We are seeking the local community's ideas about playground equipment to replace the old playground that was removed at Orana Reserve, Queanbeyan West. Tell us what you think would work in this space at yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au/ideas-for-orana-reserve
Illegal dumping: Council is encouraging residents to report illegal dumping via RIDonline. Go to ridonline.epa.nsw.gov.au to make a report. If possible, take some photos of the dumped waste and include as much information as possible on the location and description of the waste. RIDonline is used by local councils and the NSW EPA to manage illegal dumping. Since its release in 2015, more than 40,000 cases have been reported. Dumped waste can contaminate and degrade land, plant and animal habitats and pollute waterways. It can also pose a fire risk and affect our health, especially if it contains chemicals or asbestos. Clean up is expensive and it undermines legitimate recycling, with resources diverted to deal with the issue, while losing easily recycled resources like white goods, mattresses, tyres and green waste.
