Tourist destinations around Australia are facing a labour shortage this year with the absence of the traditional backpacker market.
That's good news for people looking for a change of scenery who are willing to roll up their sleeves and work in a variety of roles across the tourism and holiday sector.
The Whitsundays in Queensland is just one region that has put the call out for workers, including mature-age workers with experience on their side.
"For mature people looking for a sea change, snapping up a job in the regional tourism industry is a recipe for adventure," said Whitsundays mayor Andrew Willcox.
Many businesses across the Whitsundays currently have vacancies .
"The demand for holidays here has increased substantially," said Tourism Whitsundays chief executive Tash Wheeler.
"Now we need to increase our workforce across a variety of sectors such as chefs, cruise attendants, housekeeping and guest services.
"We are a laid-back community with paradise on our doorstep so imagine spending your days off island-hopping, fishing and exploring our incredible hinterland."

Working in remote areas can be challenging, but it can be a lot of fun too.
Those who have done it say you see an extraordinary side of Australia and meet fantastic people.
During the cooler months, The Outback Loop attracts a big crowd to enjoy the region's natural wonders, quirky towns and iconic events like the Birdsville Races, Finke Desert Race and the Big Red Bash.
Businesses there require energetic, experienced team players. Service can be fast-paced, especially around events, and workers need to be supportive of each other and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Events manager Georgie McQuade has enjoyed a few stints working on the Loop, including working holidays at the Innamincka and Birdsville hotels.
"Every person you greet is always happy, and why wouldn't they be?" Georgie said.
"They are on holiday in one of South Australia's most beautiful and remote locations, and they're about to get a cold beer in an iconic Australian outback pub."
