Christmas in July Market Day is being organised by Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council (QPRC) this year and will feature over 100 stallholders, a variety of entertainment and competitions.
"The Christmas in July Market is a great opportunity to enjoy all the entertainment, food and shopping that our region has to offer. We are looking forward to seeing lots of people from around the region come and enjoy the festive activities and atmosphere," Mayor Tim Overall said.
Members of the community can attend the Market Day on July 11 which will have Christmas-inspired food, gourmet treats and wine and handmade Christmas gifts.
To celebrate the festive spirit, the QPRC is organising a Carol Karaoke - Caroloke event for the first time this year.
Primary school, high school, duets and groups can submit the entries of their favourite carol selected from a list of carols given by the council.
Other events include Mini Queanbeyan Show, Christmas Fashion Parade, circus performers, Queanbeyan Pipes and Drums and wrapping competition.
Council has informed visitors that limited parking of 300 places is available onsite but a number of free parking is available around the venue. The closest is at the Lowe, Morissett and Rutledge Street car parks.
Vehicle entry to the showground is via Glebe Avenue and exit is via Cooma Street only.
Pedestrian entry is via the gates on Farrer Place, Lowe Street, Cooma Street and Glebe Avenue. There is also a pick-up and drop-off point on Farrer Place.
Make sure you pay attention to any parking-related signs so that you do not receive a penalty notice and respect other drives and pedestrians whenever you are in your car. For those on two wheels, a temporary bike rack is installed inside the Farrer Place entry.
