The Murrumbateman Village Market is an established feature of the growing community of Murrumbateman, just a short drive from Canberra. It is held 9am until 1pm every second and fourth Saturday of the month (except second Saturday in October and the fourth Saturday in December). The next market will be held Saturday, April 8.
Set in beautiful surroundings underneath the oak trees on the Village Green the market specialises in local fresh foods and handicrafts. Being right in the heart of the Canberra cool climate wine region means that visitors have the opportunity to sample a wide variety of food and craft at the market before a visit or a lunch at one of the region’s vineyards.

The market regularly attracts 40 to 50 stalls with goods ranging from fruit and vegetables, breads, cakes, pastries, jams, sauces and meats to native plants, pottery and handmade crafts as well as the chance to taste wine from local small winemakers. An important feature of the market is the community stall, which provides the opportunity for local hobby farmers and gardeners to display and sell their excess produce while contributing to community funds.
There’s entertainment at each market on the Village Green stage with performances by local and visiting artists. The market is community-based and run by volunteers with profits returned to the community. Parking is easy with access just off the Barton Highway.
