Queanbeyan Police were called to the suburban street at about 9.15am on Saturday, November 1.
Officers reported the man standing in the street completely naked and making a scene. It is unclear why the Canberra man was in Queanbeyan at the time.
“The man appeared to be under the influence of some sort of drugs or alcohol,” Queanbeyan Police acting inspector Scott Tozer said.
“He was using [offensive] language towards police and other residents in the street.”
The man attempted to run away but was tackled by police. He was arrested and taken back to the station still naked.
After some time officers were able to determine his identity and gave him some clothing to cover himself.
They charged him with wilful and obscene exposure, malicious damage (relating to the man urinating in the dock at the police station) and assaulting a police officer.
The maximum penalty for wilful and obscene exposure is six months jail.
The man will appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on November 24.
