The annual Greg Whitehead Fishing Competition is on again this weekend and fishing will commence early on Friday – 6.30am – for the dash for cash.
The main comp kicks off at 12pm, and the competition will run all weekend, with all money raised being donated to the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
Things have been fishing quite well in the "Juck" with good cod, goldens and reddies all being caught.
Again the main basin seems to have outfished the arms, but with some of the regions best anglers competing, I’m sure more fish have been caught and not recorded as some people hold their cards close to their chest.

Spots are still available to enter the competition so email info@gregwhiteheadfishing.com.au and get along to enjoy the largest freshwater fishing comp in our area.
On the coast, even though the water is cold the estuaries are alive. Tuross and the Clyde are producing some great EPs, bream and flathead.
Out wide the snapper are going off and have reasonably easy to find and catch. Great sized mowong have also been caught in good numbers.
My tip – try and avoid too much burly as there have been some huge barracudas around that will destroy any tackle in the water.
