Emergency Services: Monaro Police District welcomes two new officers

PC Herbert grew up in the city and wanted to join the NSW Police Force from the age of eight years.

As a young girl, she was inspired by a neighbour who had recently retired from the NSWPF.

She is thriving in the country as she has a strong passion for helping others.

"I enjoy the diversity in my role," said PC Herbert. "Every day is different.

"I am moving cattle off the road, assisting people in small rural towns and helping young people get back on their feet. I wouldn't do anything else. This is a great job."

Probationary Constable Emily Manusu began duties with Queanbeyan Police in May 2019.

PC Manusu grew up in Dubbo before relocating to Sydney.

She was a sailor in the Royal Australian Navy for a number of years before deciding to redirect her career towards policing.

She was keen to be placed in Monaro Police District as she has family in the area.

"I am loving every minute of my job," said PC Manusu.

"It is constantly changing where I am learning new skills every day. The local community is really nice and very welcoming."
