The Tigers are coming off two bad losses and Riewoldt is in a long list of absentees ahead of Thursday night's match at Adelaide Oval.

By contrast, the Crows' win over GWS last weekend was their best of the season.

But Riewoldt has pointed to round four, when Richmond pulled off a rousing away heist by stunning Port Adelaide.

The Tigers were given little chance, given they were without their Big Four - Riewoldt, Dustin Martin, captain Trent Cotchin and Alex Rance - for the first time in coach Damien Hardwick's reign.

"Travelling galvanises the group when you're under the pump in general, because you go over there and it's a pretty hostile environment, Adelaide Oval," Riewoldt told AFL360.

"You don't see many yellow and black supporters over there - (they are) sprinkled through the stands.

""It's going to be a big stage, Thursday night football on a bye round when there isn't much football."

Richmond have a reasonable 4-6 record at the Adelaide cauldron, but have only beaten the Crows once there in four attempts.

Most recently, Adelaide upset the reigning premiers by six goals in round two last season.

"We believe we can do it, we've played well at that ground this year and it can be a real fortress for the SA teams," Riewoldt said.

"There's a real strong belief in our group."

Coach Damien Hardwick said Martin will play, despite the star onballer suffering a knock in Friday night's heavy loss to Geelong.

The Tigers could regain Nick Vlastuin and Brandon Ellis from injury.

Riewoldt has played only three games this season, with a knee injury sidelining him since round six.
