The night, which raised money for Capital Region Muscular Dystrophy, featured 11 bouts, two of which were kickboxing fights, and took place in front of a packed and lively crowd.

Event organiser Rob Oakley said that the event went "really well."

"It's always an interesting experience because you never know what's going to come up, but at the end of the day it went really well," Oakley said.

Although the calculations are only preliminary at this stage, Oakley said the night raised "somewhere in the order of" $18-20 thousand in total.

This takes the tally across the five years that the event has been running up to over $100 thousand, Oakley said.

"We started out quite small, and it's evolved into the event it is now," he said.

"[The money raised] goes in to support people in Canberra and the surrounding regions who live with muscular dystrophy.

"We're always hopeful of making as much as we can."

There was some extremely high quality fighting among the 11 bouts featured on the card, which culminated in a clash between Stockade Gym's Ben Bradley and Winnunga's Jackson Welsh.

Welsh won what was a thrilling encounter, and both men took home the Fight of the Night award.

Oakley said that the quality of the competition was of a high standard across the board.

"We had some people come down from Sydney who were pretty good quality and they made some really good bouts," he said.

"The local gyms help us out too in making some really good quality fights ... I think everyone enjoyed themselves."

There was another Fight of the Night award handed out to the best kickboxing match of the evening, which went to Tegan Taylor and Zoe Whitehouse, who met in the second fixture on the card.

Both women fought a scintillating match, but it was Whitehouse who claimed a thrilling split-decision victory.
