There are no total fire bans in place, however, residents living in these regions should consider if today is the best day to start pile burns.
People should also review their bush fire survival plan, keep informed, monitor conditions and be ready to act if necessary.
That was the advice from NSW Rural Fire Service superintendent Peter Alley this morning.
"It's going to get very windy," he said.
"The temperature is in the low 20s and things are still fairly green around here, so from that point of view it's not drastic, but if anyone is lighting fires let's hope their common sense will prevail."
Vigorous winds have pushed the fire danger rating up to very high.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued a warning on Friday for damaging winds across the Southern Tablelands.
They are expected to average between 60 to 70 kilometres per hour with peak gusts in excess of 90km/h.
"Significant areas of raised dust are likely to develop across inland districts on Friday," BOM said.
The Gunning fireworks are expected to go ahead on Saturday night for anyone travelling from the region to the event.
The fire danger rating is expected to drop back to low to moderate with winds easing off tomorrow, Superintendent Alley said.
