The competition will be split into two conferences, with NBL1 North to replace the Queensland Basketball League, while the Victorian-based conference, featuring the Albury-Wodonga Bandits, will be known as NBL1 South.
Both will hold conference finals in August, with an NBL1 finals series to be played on the first weekend of September between the two conference champions at Melbourne's State Basketball Centre.
